Seeking faculty, staff and administrator volunteers for Kick-Off Trails

The Office of Activities and Engagement invites you to be a part of our Kick-Off Trails project, where we will also Kick-Off the Year of Enaged Leadership.

August is the month designated to the Commitment to Personal Growth.  We want to facilitate personal growth among our students by enlisting faculty, staff, and administration to serve side-by-side with students.  While rehabilitating a local trail, we will be encouraging conversations with student volunteers about broader goals in their college experience; ways to facilitate growth academically, personally, professionally and spiritually.

Start off the school year with service!  For the past five years, the Office of Activities and Engagement partners with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust to work on local trail projects.  Volunteers rehabilitate portions of our local Main Street to Mountains trail system by resurfacing, pulling noxious weeds, and improving drainage.  This event takes place the Sunday before school begins and is a great way to kick off the new school year.  We provide transportation from the SUB to the work site and back, lunch, and a local trail map.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Robin Mayer in the Office of Activites and Engagement at 994-2837 or email robin.mayer@montana.edu.
