RSVP by Aug. 30 for Troops to Teachers speakers and reception event on Sept. 17
As part of MSU's Year of Engaged Leadership, the MSU College of Education, Health & Human Development and Troops to Teachers, will be hosting a public reception followed by two speakers on Tuesday, Sept. 17 in Ballroom D of the Strand Union Building at MSU. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvre will be served from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by the speakers from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. An RSVP by Aug. 30 to Dave Polmanteer at firstname.lastname@example.org is greatly appreciated but not required.
The evening's speakers are:
Senior Master Sergeant Eric A. Combs, assistant principal at Fairborn Primary School in Ohio, will be the keynote speaker. Combs is a highly decorated veteran. During his 20 year career, Combs was stationed in South Korea, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Germany, North Africa, and Europe. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Combs served as a security forces superintendent and special tactics instructor. He then instructed Air Force Junior ROTC and attended the University of Dayton with Troops to Teachers to obtain his teaching license. Since then, he has been actively involved in the Ohio Council of Social Studies Teachers and the Holocaust Educators of Dayton. He has been honored four times in Who's Who among American Teacher's.
Candy Lubansky, superintendent of Belgrade Public Schools since 2010, will also be speaking. Before becoming superintendent, Lubansky was an executive director for Missoula County Public schools. Lubansky is enrolled in the University of Montana doctoral program in educational leadership. She is currently a member of the Greater Gallatin United Way board of directors, Belgrade Youth Forum board, Gallatin College advisory council, and the Belgrade Chamber.
