Academic Advising Award winner Ada Giusti donates award to MSU's Emerging Scholar Program

MSU professor Ada Giusti announced her intent to donate the $2,000 honorarium accompanying the Academic Advising Award she received during Tuesday's Spring Convocation ceremony to MSU's Presidential Emerging Scholars Grants program.

"In an effort to keep the focus on our students, their education, and the importance of engagement, I'll be contributing my award back through the MSU Alumni Foundation to MSU's Presidential Emerging Scholars Grants program," Giusti said, encouraging fellow faculty to learn more about how the program could benefit their own students.

The Presidential Emerging Scholars Grants program enables faculty to recognize a student's potential for academic success. Based on faculty nomination and with faculty guidance, students use Emerging Scholars Grants to engage in hands-on experiences outside the classroom that significantly advance their academic career and prospects for future endeavors.

Further information and the nomination form for the Presidential Emerging Scholars Program can be found at http://www.montana.edu/president/esa/. The nomination deadline for 2014 Spring Semester Emerging Scholar Grants occurs in late February.
