Celebrate America seeks volunteers
MontanaPBS is pleased to work with nationally acclaimed composer Tim Janis for our fourth annual taping of Celebrate America. Celebrate America is a music program spotlighting high school choirs from across our great state.
Eight to twelve choirs will convene at MontanaPBS's Jack Hyyppa studio on the MSU campus Monday, January 7th to record their performance for a broadcast which will air in March.
In order to create the best experience for the nearly 400 students, MontanaPBS seeks volunteers from the campus and the community.
MontanaPBS needs volunteers to help us prepare the studio (move set pieces) for the production and create dressing rooms the day before, Sunday, January 6th from 5-9 pm, then to strike the set and return the dressing rooms to their previous arrangement on January 7th from 6-8 pm.
We also need volunteers the day of to be room marshals of the dressing rooms and stewards in the warm-up rooms. These jobs entail greeting the students, chaperones, and choir directors to let them know what to expect and to guide them through the process. Room marshals and stewards are invaluable in creating a welcoming and pleasant experience. The time commitment would be 1 to 2 hours starting at 7 am and ending at 6 pm.
A brief welcome and training session for those working during the taping will be held the afternoon of January 6th.
The participating high schools so far for 2013 are:
Belgrade HS Park HS - Livingston
Skyview HS - Billings Sweet Grass HS - Big Timber
Stevensville HS Polson HS
Heritage Christian Hamilton HS
