The Service Learning Summit is a day-long conference for higher education professionals and community partners around the state and region to enhance their knowledge of service learning. National and statewide service learning practitioners will share their expertise and experiences through sessions on assessing student learning, service learning best practices, and building strong community partnerships. Opening remarks will be delivered by President Cruzado and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Barbara Jacoby. Don't miss this unique opportunity to work with experts to delve into the practice of service learning and discover how it can further your goals in higher education while addressing pressing community issues. This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Barbara Jacoby, a leading practitioner and highly published writer in the service learning field, as our keynote speaker for the Summit. Dr. Jacoby has written four books addressing the practice of service learning, published numerous scholarly articles, taught service learning courses, and lead efforts focusing on service learning programming. She writes and consults extensively, making presentations across the U.S. and around the globe. The University of Maryland as well as professional associations have recognized her outstanding work on behalf of service-learning and commuter students.
