Applications for Faculty Excellence Grants Program due March 20

Provost Martha Potvin and Vice President for Research Tom McCoy, through the Center for Faculty Excellence, are inviting applications for the Faculty Excellence Grants (FEG) Program 2013-2014 (formerly the Faculty Development Awards Program). FEGs will enable faculty to engage in activities that will enhance scholarship. Examples of activities include (but are not limited to) travel to access specialized or unique resources; completion and submission of a research paper to a peer-reviewed journal; or research into teaching, assessment, and/or pedagogy. If the proposal is for a course release (available to tenure-track faculty only), only the actual cost of the course buy-out will be funded. Maximum funding for each FEG award is $5,000. Applications are processed through Department Heads and College Deans. Final submissions from the Deans are due to the Center for Faculty Excellence by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Deans and Department Heads, of course, will need to set their own deadlines prior to this date. For the complete announcement and submission instructions, go to: http://www.montana.edu/teachlearn/documents/FEGAnnouncement_S13.pdf Questions about the FEG program may be addressed to Anne Angermeyr at annea@montana.edu or 994-7136.
