These presentations are geared toward individuals with beginning to intermediate grant experience. Each presentation will last approximately 40 minutes, including question and answer sessions. No RSVP is required.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF EXPERTS
Barbara Ainsworth, Ph.D. Barbara's research relates to physical activity and public health with a focus on the assessment of physical activity in populations, the evaluation of physical activity questionnaires and physical activity in women. Professor in the Exercise & Wellness Program and Associate Director for Health Promotion Faculties in the School of Nutrition & Health Promotion at Arizona State University, Barbara has served on the President's Council and the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sport Scientific Committees among other distinctive service and awards.
Julie Baldwin, Ph.D. With research including utilization of community-based participatory approaches and addressing health disparities by developing and implementing culturally competent public health interventions, Julie has headed several federally and foundation-funded projects and currently is focusing on research in adolescent drug use and eliminating disparities in maternal and child health populations. She has recently worked on a study of quality of healthcare for Florida's children and adolescents and HIV/STD & mental health risks among Native American youth. Julie teaches grad-level courses at the University of South Florida and serves on several NIH review panels, the Scientific Advisory Boards of the I-HART program at U of Washington and is a board member for the Center for American Resilience.
Thom McKenzie, Ph.D. A former school P.E. & health teacher, coach and administrator, Dr. McKenzie has been an investigator on 14 large-scale multidisciplinary research projects supported by the National Institutes of Health as well as collaborated on projects funded by Active Living Research, CDC and others. His expertise in designing and assessing physical activity programs and interventions with diverse populations is widely recognized, including having been selected as a member of the Science Board, President's Council for Physical Fitness and Sports (2006-2009) and is the recipient of numerous professional awards. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at San Diego State.
Yong Gao, Ph.D. An Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Boise State University, Dr. Gao has participated in many multidisciplinary research projects and specializes in evaluating, designing and analyzing large sample complex data. Her projects have focused on using culturally relevant language and data collection methods in unbiased questionnaires, assessment tools and physical activity studies.
She is now Chair of the Measurement and Evaluation Council at American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), a fellow of the AAHPERD research consortium, and one of the eight members of AAHPERD research consortium grant committee among other prestigious activities.
