Grant writing course begins
Montana State University's Extended University will offer a grant-writing course beginning Thursday, Sept. 26.
The six-session evening class takes participants through the processes of clarifying and developing a fundable project, identifying and researching target funding sources, building and justifying a budget, preparing for all the proposal submission components, and writing a persuasive project description designed to appeal to prospective funders.
The course is spread out over three months to enable homework to be completed between sessions, with time for individualized instructor feedback. Each participant will also have three hours of one-on-one time with the instructor, Elizabeth Bird, who is a project development specialist at MSU. She has more than 20 years' experience in writing and managing grants and has assisted grantwriters in the submission of over 100 proposals.
This class meets from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 26; Monday, Oct. 7 and 21; and Thursdays, Nov. 7, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5. The cost is $299.
