Lecture and Reception

John Priscu, a polar ecologist who studies the microbial ecology of Antarctic ecosystems and winner of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research Medal for Excellence in Antarctic Research will be the final speaker for the Provost's Lecture Series this academic year. Priscu was one of the leaders of a 2013 expedition studying the ecosystem under the Ross Ice Shelf and won international recognition.

The Provost's Distinguished Lecturer Series recognizes outstanding faculty at Montana State University for
scholarship and leadership. Faculty presenting during the series will reflect on the inspirations for their work in lectures for the professional and lay person alike.
Other members of the Provost's Distinguished Lecturer Series include: Trevor Douglas, Brett Walker, Ilse-Mari Lee, Frances Lefcort, and Joe Seymour.
