Announcing Incentive Program for Researchers
Provost Martha Potvin and Interim Vice President for Research Anne Camper are pleased to announce the Incentive Program for Researchers (IPR). MSU has developed this program to provide for an opportunity for faculty successful in obtaining federal grants to receive an annual financial incentive payment. The university has discontinued the use of additional compensation from federal and federal pass-through grants and this new program is meant to provide an incentive program that will meet all the requirements of federal regulations while providing incentives for federal grant activity.
We are proud of our tradition of successful grant activity and want to continue to build on that tradition. This program is intended to enhance our research program by allowing research active tenure and tenure track faculty to receive an annual incentive payment of up to 25% of their institutional base salary. The summary of the program and the full university policy governing the program may be accessed at http://www.montana.edu/wwwvr/osp/.
We have prepared from FAQs designed to answer the most frequently asked questions which may also be accessed at http://www.montana.edu/wwwvr/osp/. This incentive program creates a new opportunity to help us advance the research mission of the university and we look forward to the successful implementation of this program this year. Informational sessions will be made available during the fall semester. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to call your Dean's Office, Leslie Schmidt (x2381) or Deb Barkley (x2894).
