Utah Repertory Dance Theatre Movement Workshop Focusing on Empathy

Strand Union Building, Ballroom B

Offered as part of MSU's "Year of Engaged Leadership," this workshop will look at October's topic, empathy, using a variety of movement games and explorations.  The Utah Repertory Dance Theatre Movement Workshop will allow all participants the freedom to explore their own physical and creative potential in a noncompetitive environment, develop awareness that the body can be used as an instrument of self-expression, and use the creative process to develop ways to solve problems through teamwork, cooperation and collaboration. 

The Movement Workshop is for people of all ages and abilities and is free and open to the public.  All are welcome. 

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that allows 'freedom of movement' and running shoes that provide stability and comfort. 

The Utah Repertory Dance Theatre has been entertaining and enlightening audiences throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, in major metropolitan cities as well as rural and remote areas, for over 48 years...from Vienna, Austria, to Skagway, Alaska.  They are a Company significantly committed not only to the highest artistic ideals, but also to a maximum level of enriching activities and stimulating involvement with community members of all ages wherever they go.

ALSO.. The Repertory Dance Theater is also looking for  8 to 15 students that would like to dance in the Theatre's concert on Tuesday, October 22nd.  No dance experience necessary and volunteers will work with RDT choreographers to learn their part. 

TIME COMMITMENT:  Rehearsal:  Monday, October 21st at 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Tech run-thru:  Tuesday, October 22nd at 3 to 4 p.m.

Concert:  Tuesday, October 22nd from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
