Can the Griz Food Drive!
This year marks the 14th annual Can the Griz/Can the Bobcats Food Drive, an off-field competition between MSU and the University of Montana to see which community can collect the most donations for their local food banks. This friendly competition takes place on Saturday, November 9 through Saturday, November 23 at the Bobcat/Griz home game, and ends at half-time.
In addition to Bobcat success on the field, in 2012, Can the Griz was a tremendous success in our community. MSU and the Bozeman community donated 68,515 pounds of food plus approximately $29,000 to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Combined, that's a record donation of the equivalent of 86,957 pounds of food. The University of Montana and Missoula community also raised a record amount for the Missoula community's local food bank. Donations from UM and the Missoula community totaled 29,025 pounds of food plus $28,968.40. As a result of their defeat in 2012, the Missoula community has renewed their spirit of friendly competition this year.
The campus community is invited to help us Can the Griz by setting-up a blue and gold box/bin and promoting the Can the Griz Food Drive at your location beginning on November 9 through November 22. By registering at this link, you will be provided with a collection box, marketing materials, official collection site poster(s), and advertising of your location as an official drop-off site: http://www.formstack.com/forms/?1607090-BYEQaMXwTt
