The Hallstatt Culture: Dawn of the Iron Age in Central Europe
Museum of the Rockies, Hager Auditorium
ARCHAEOLOGY INSTITUTE OF AMERICA LECTURE SERIES.
Hrvoje Potrebica uncovers the characteristic features of the cultural complex of the Hallstatt Culture (~800-450 BC) or what archaeologists call the Early Iron Age groups of Central Europe. These groups were completely independent politically and to some extent culturally different from one another, but they were interconnected by a vast trading network which made the material culture, technology and basic social ideas similar across the region.
