Graduate School Orientation The Graduate School Orientation and Training (and Lunch!)

This is a required orientation of all new graduate students. It is a collaborative event that includes speakers, discussions, and breakout sessions detailing specific information for graduate students.
9:30-12:00 Noon: Mandatory orientation for all new graduate students (SUB "D")
This session will introduce graduate students to all aspects of being a new graduate student and possible future GTA: legal, institutional equity, disability services, ROTC, upcoming development of the graduate summit, research compliance (for thesis/dissertation), graduate student union and for students that are non-resident, information on gaining residency.
12:00-1:15pm: Welcome Lunch, SUB Ballroom D.
1:30-4:30pm: Graduate Teaching Assistant training (339 Leon Johnson)
A workshop to learn: working with diversity in the classroom, using D2L as a teaching tool, Teaching styles, and Classroom assessment techniques.
