College of EHHD Outstanding Faculty Lecture Series

Dr. Alison Harmon, Outstanding Faculty in Engagement for the Department of Health and Human Development, will present "Experiments in Teaching, Active Learning, and Extreme Community Engagement." Dr. Harmon will talk about both successful and failed experiments in undergraduate and graduate teaching in the food and nutrition and sustainable food systems curricula. Dr. Harmon is part of the collaborative team of faculty from the College of EHHD and the College of Agriculture who founded Towne's Harvest Garden, the university's three acre teaching and research farm that produces local, organic, sustainable food, and she also partnered with the College of Agriculture to established the sustainable food and bioenergy systems major, one of the fastest growing major on campus.
