Washington River Protection Solutions is responsible for reducing environmental risks to the Columbia River due to the highly radioactive and chemical waste stored underground. Hanford, Washington was home to the plutonium reactor which helped fuel the Manhattan Project in the mid-1940s, the clean up of this site is considered to be one of the most complex in the nation. Representatives from WRPS will be on campus to discuss the need for the clean up and the opportunities that are available with them to help be a part of the solution.
