Cultures of the American West is a series of events sponsored by the Department of English and the College of Letters and Science.
Linda Karell, MSU Department of English, will introduce and chair a session on recent research about the cultures of the American West. Faculty presenters include Robert Bennett (English), Susan Kollin (English), Andrew Nelson (Film and Photography) and Kristin Ruppel (Native American Studies).

Tuesday, March 25, 4:10 PM, 168 Strand Union Building, A reading and book signing with Natalie Brown
Ben Leubner, MSU Department of English, will introduce MSU English and Native American Studies alumnus Natalie Brown, who will give a reading from her recent novel about the American West, The Lovebird (Doubleday Press). Copies of her book will be available for purchase from the MSU Bookstore at this event.
Thursday, March 27, 4:10 PM, 125 Linfield Hall, L&S Distinguished Speakers Series lecture by Stephen Tatum
Stephen Tatum, Director of the Environmental Humanities Program at the University of Utah, will present a lecture on The Labor of the Dead: Bolaño and Bowden on the Border. This event is part of the College of Letters and Science Distinguished Speakers Series.
