Wind Symphony Concert
Howard Hall, Reynolds Recital Hall
MSU concert bands will perform an afternoon of music inspired by Earth...and beyond. The title composition, "Spiritual Planet" is on loan from the composer who resides in Japan and is mostly known for composing video game music. This three-movement work portrays the fate of humanity on a planet that is literally waking up. Hurricanes, Tsunamis, and Earthquakes have wreaked devastation all over the globe in recent years. What will be the future of Earth? The concert will also include the MSU premiere of a new commission by the bands of Montana. "On This Bright Morning" was composed by Montana's very own David Maslanka, and is exclusively available to us through the rules of the commission consortium. Be one of the first to hear this beautiful new work for band! Also being performed: "Mars" from "the Planets," "The Triumph of Ishtar," an arrangement by MSU student, Ethan Cayko of "Collapse Light Unto Earth," and the ever fun and popular Leroy Anderson arrangement of "The Irish Washerwoman."
Tickets are $10 general/ $5 student and are available online (link below) and at the door.
