Do you work in hot conditions whether it be outside in the summer spring, summer, fall or in an elevated temperature with warm clothing? Do you send employees to work in these conditions? If so, this course will help you to identify actions to take to prevent heat realated illnesses and basic first aid for individuals that contract heat related illnesses.
Workers who are exposed to extreme heat or work in hot environments may be at risk of heat stress. Exposure to extreme heat can result in occupational illnesses and injuries. Attend this class to learn more about the prevention of, causes, and results of heat stress to keep yourself healthy in hot working environments.
Intended Audience: All employees are encouraged to attend. Employees that work outdoors during the summer, or are required to wear personal protective equipment that covers the head, arms, chest and/or legs are highly encouraged to attend.
Prerequisites: Any courses necessary to take prior to this course
How you will benefit: At the conclusion of the course you will be able to:
- Identify the causes of heat stress
- Identify the symptoms of various results of heat stressors
- Prevent heat stress from occurring
- Administer basic care in the instance you are with someone that has heat stress
