Kevin Guthrie's presentation "The Forces that Impact Teaching and Research in the Digital/Networked World" has been canceled.
The MSU Library, the Vice President for Research, and the Center for Faculty Excellence are pleased to announce that Kevin Guthrie will give a presentation on the forces that impact teaching and research in the digital/networked world.
The triennial Ithaka S R national survey of faculty measures scholarly and research practices in the digital age, and MSU faculty recently provided a strong response (45% completion rate) to a local version of that survey. Mr. Guthrie will touch on the results of that survey in his presentation.
Presenter: Kevin Guthrie is an executive and entrepreneur with expertise in high technology and not-for-profit management. He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Princeton University and a master of business administration from Columbia University. He is the founding president of JSTOR (1995) and Ithaka (2004), and oversaw their merger in 2010 to form ITHAKA, a not-for-profit organization that helps the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways.
