Important Notice on Heartbleed
As many of you may already be aware, a very serious network flaw was announced this week. This vulnerability, called Heartbleed, allows hackers to steal information such as passwords and credit card numbers. This message is to inform the MSU community that we are aware of the problem and have taken the necessary steps to secure the University's computing environment. For more information, please reference the Heartbleed Alert site at www.montana.edu/heartbleed/
Due to the attention this vulnerability is receiving, faculty, staff, and students may see an increased number of phishing attempts. Be wary of any emails asking you to change passwords. As a reminder, legitimate organizations will never ask you to send sensitive information such as passwords, SSNs, or bank account numbers over email.
