College of Education, Health and Human Development Outstanding Faculty Lecture

Art Bangert, associate professor in the Department of Education at MSU, will present the final lecture in the College of Education, Health and Human Development's Outstanding Lecture Series. His presentation is entitled "Service: Important for Tenure, Promotion and Socialization in the Academy."
Bangert is the recipient of the College of EHHD's Outstanding Service Award for 2014 for the Department of Education. His primary research interest is focused on assessing the quality of online learning environments and investigating the development of online critical inquiry. Dr. Bangert’s service commitments include serving as a member of the technical advisory committee for the Montana Comprehensive Assessment System. In addition, his scholarly service includes serving as a reviewer for the "Journal of Student Centered Learning, The Internet and Higher Education" and the "Journal of Educational Computing Research."
He received his Ed.D in 1995 from the University of South Dakota with a major foucs in research and evaluation. Dr. Bangert also has 23 years of public school experience as a teacher, counselor and school psychologist.
