Devon Glover, "The Sonnet Man," will be performing and conducting a workshop on the MSU campus on the morning of July 23 in Linfield Hall, room 125.
Glover will meet with faculty, staff, and students to speak about what inspired him to become a writer and the methodologies he uses in working with children.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their children, who will get a chance to write their own sonnets and perform them-rapped, spoken, or sung-in an impromptu sonnet concert.
Glover is a hip hop artist who brings Shakespeare to young audiences and introduces them to the playwright in a fun and exciting way. Glover offers workshops and performances to entertain and educate.
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, and raised by a single mother, Glover graduated from Ithaca College and has been featured on NBC's Today Show.
