Montana State University Graduate Student Summit

The Graduate School and the 2015 Graduate Student Summit Planning Committee are pleased to announce that the third annual Graduate Student Summit will be held on October 29 and 30, 2015. The focus of the event is to provide graduate students with professional development training to complement their graduate education and research experience. The free event will feature panels and workshops on fellowships, career development, and more. Panelists and workshop leaders represent a variety of academic disciplines and work sectors, and all hold advanced degrees from Montana State University and other institutions.
Dr. Robert Augustine, Senior Vice President for the Council of Graduate Schools, will be the keynote speaker on October 29. He also will lead the networking workshop that afternoon.
“We are delighted that Dr. Augustine can join us for the 2015 Graduate Student Summit,” said Graduate School Dean Dr. Karlene Hoo. “His vast experience along with a good sense of humor will inspire the students. Our planning committee looks forward to welcoming Dr. Augustine and all of our panelists and workshop leaders to this year’s event.”

New to this year’s Summit is the Graduate Student Research Poster Rendezvous to be held from 1:00 -3:00 pm on Thursday October 29 in Stand Union Ballroom B. The Research Poster Rendezvous (RPR) will feature graduate students from all academic colleges. A panel of experts in each category will judge the RPR contributions. First place in each category will receive a travel grant of up to $250.00 towards participation in a professional conference and second place will receive $100.00 to be used for scholarly expenses. The public is encouraged to attend the RPR to learn about the cutting edge research being conducted by Montana State graduate students.
