Closing Reception Post Katrina: New Orleans 2006 Exhibit

The MSU School of Architecture Exhibit Committee is proud to present an exhibition of works by well-known illustrator, Chris Grubbs. In 2006 Mr. Grubbs traveled to New Orleans to spend six weeks scouring the city in an attempt to understand what the forces of nature can do to a modern American city. and recording, in charcoal the damages caused by Hurricane Katrina a year earlier. The original drawings shown in this exhibit will become part of the Christopher Grubbs Archives at the Library of Congress.
There will be a closing reception for the exhibit Thursday evening, September 17th. Associate Professsor, Christina Z. Anderson, from MSU's School of Film and Photography will be sharing photographs she took during three visists to New Orleans - before Katrina hit, shortly there after, and just recently. Christina will be available throughout the reception to answer questions.
