- Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
- Jabs Hall, Room 207 - view map
Join us for this session on how to write a winning nomination letter for students for scholarships and awards. Our institutional success in rexceiving major undergraduate and graduate scholarships is due in no small measure to individual faculty members taking the time to encourage outstanding students to apply. Learn more about the application and review process for prestigious scholarships and awards such as the Rhodes, Goldwater, Udall, Truman, Gates-Cambridge, Fulbright, Boren, and Marshall Scholarships. Ilse-Mari, who has had tremendous success in cultivating and writing endorsement and recommendation letters for students will provide tips for letter writers. Betsy will discuss inclusive, unbiased language in letters of support and nominations. Those writing nominations for the October awards may find this session of value as we near the internal deadlines for nominations for the Goldwater, Truman, Boren, and Udal nominations. Light refreshments provided.
