2016 Orientation Leader Informational Meeting
- Monday, November 9, 2015 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
- Strand Union Building - view map
The Orientation Staff is beginning the search for students to serve as Student Orientation Leaders for the 2016 Orientation Programs.
Student Orientation Leaders hold paid positions, act as peer advisors, earn two 400-level credits, and receive training in leadership theory and skills. Their role is challenging and requires a great deal of personal commitment. They will be asked not only to guide incoming students through the rigors of scheduling, registering, and financing their college careers, but will also aid in reassuring students of their abilities and familiarizing them with campus facilities, activities, and living. Summer Orientation Programs take place in June, July, and August.
Leaders will be paid for the Orientation sessions: $300/summer Orientation session (total of 3), $200/fall Orientation session (total of 1), $70/spring Orientation session (total of 1).
Your connection with students is essential in our search for qualified and appropriate candidates. Please contact and encourage students who have demonstrated strong academic and interpersonal skills as well as show an interest in and concern for their fellow students. We are looking for students from a variety of backgrounds to insure that our leaders are representative of the student population.
If students would like further information, we will be conducting informational meetings:
- Wednesday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m. in SUB 232
- Monday, November 9 at 6:00 p.m. in SUB 232
Students can access the application at http://www.montana.edu/admissions/orientation/leaders.shtml.
The application deadline is 12:00 p.m—NOON, Friday, November 13, 2015. Please contact Korrin Engel at x2453 or email@example.com with any questions.
