Tenzin Phuntsog, founder of the Tibet Film Archive, and Joy Dietrich, former editor at The New York Times, join forces to work on an extraordinary community portrait film about Tibetan exiles. Join the School of Film and Photography for a talk with the New York-based filmmakers about their new documentary project that had them traversing the Himalayan mountains in India and Nepal, and the high peaks of Montana for a look into their filmmaking process.
Currently Visiting Assistant Professors at Montana State University's School of Film and Photography, they will screen original content and archival materials to discuss new work they are finishing this winter. This talk will offer a unique look behind the scenes of their filmmaking process, similar to Richard Leacock's minimal crew set up, and the challenges and solutions they came up with.
