Singers from around the state will be adjudicated by teachers affiliated with the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Classical and musical theatre singers will sing for comments and scores with a chance to compete in the regional and national levels of NATS auditions. Auditions are conducted throughout the day with a vocal master class with Dr. Brian Gill at 5:00-6:30 pm. Dr. Brian Gill is a new member of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Tenor Brian Gill, D.M.A., Certificate in Vocology, and 2011 Van L. Lawrence Fellowship winner, is associate professor of voice at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He was previously music associate professor/director of vocal pedagogy at New York University’s (NYU) Steinhardt School and Voice Center (Langone Medical Center). His students perform throughout the United States and abroad, including at The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, English National Opera, Sante Fe Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Dallas Opera, The Royal Opera House, LA Opera, San Francisco Opera, On and Off Broadway, in Broadway national/international tours, The Soldiers’ Chorus, and many regional theaters in the United States and abroad. He has been published in VOICEPrints (NYSTA official journal), Logopedics, Phoniatrics, Vocology, and Journal of Voice.
