The European Refugee Crisis and the Federal Republic of Germany

This session will focus on the role played by the Federal Republic of Germany in trying to address the refugee crisis in Europe today. Short presentations by German Studies faculty will discuss relevant aspects of current European Union asylum policy, political conflicts within the EU, and the representation of the crisis in the media. MSU international student Richard Panuschka will join the panel to discuss Austrian perspectives on the crisis. Patricia Anne Simpson, Yvonne Toepfer.
