Interested in learning more about LGBTQ issues and potentially becoming part of an ally network for LGBTQ students at MSU? The Safe Zone program offers trainings each semester to help educate our community and promote an inclusive campus environment. Safe Zone is a program that appears on campuses across the nation to build awareness and support of LGBTQIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and questioning) individuals. These workshops educate and raise awareness about LGBTQIQ issues and provide training, resources and tips for being an ally.
The Safe Zone Module 1 Workshop is designed to be an introduction to LGBTQIQ terminology, experiences, and issues. This workshop addresses definitions related to sexual orientation and gender expression, the coming out process, and LGBTQIQ resources available. This training is free and open to all MSU students, faculty, and staff.
Attendees must register to attend the workshop at http://www.montana.edu/safezone/upcoming_workshops.html.
