Racheal Upton is a Ph.D. candidate in interdepartmental microbiology in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology at Iowa State University, working with Dr. Kirsten Hofmockel. Her research interests are understanding what shapes microbial communities within complex ecosystems and building the bridge between ecosystem level field work to single cell genomics. Racheal will present “A scaling approach to determine the drivers of complex soil microbial communities,” at the CBE's weekly seminar.
