How does the biologist teach so that her students experience thinking like a biologist and even doing biology? How does the historian help students practice historical thinking? How does the artist teach students to see the world through artists’ eyes? In this workshop, participants will begin to ask and answer questions about their own signature pedagogies, or ways of teaching that cultivate their disciplinary habits of mind.
Dr. Nancy Chick is Teaching Professor of English and the Academic Director of the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary. As University Chair of Teaching and Learning, she leads a variety of initiatives and programs around the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and conducts her own research in SoTL.
Attendees earn one credit towards Center Membership and one credit toward Teaching Enhancement certificate.
