The Center for Biofilm Engineering is pleased to present a special seminar with Dr. Viola Krukenberg, post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Roland Hatzenpichler’s lab at MSU. Viola will present “Interactions between archaea and bacteria in anaerobic methane-oxidizing consortia.”
Viola earned her master's and Ph.D. degrees in marine microbiology at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen, Germany working with Dr. Gunter Wegener in the group of Prof. Antje Boetius. Her research interests are the physiology, genomic potential, and interspecies dependencies of uncultured anaerobic archaea and bacteria, particularly those involved in the anaerobic oxidation of methane.
If you would like to meet with Dr. Krukenberg, please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
