Sophomore Surge is seeking participants for Scavenger Hunt Competition
The Sophomore Surge is seeking participation from campus resources at MSU to join in an Exploration of Campus Resources Scavenger Hunt Competition.
The Sophomore Surge is a new program at MSU whereby incoming Freshmen will be guided and supported throughout their first year of college in order to successfully Surge into their sophomore year. The Surge will support first-year students in their transition to college through exploration, examination, and development of their identity, interests, strengths, values, and goals. Sophomore Surge teams, under the guidance and support of their Surge Mentor, will engage in weekly activities and events designed to support their transition to college. For more information and a schedule of weekly Surge activities, visit www.montana.edu/sophomoresurge.
During Week 3 of Fall semester, September 11th-17th, Surge teams will be visiting offices around campus to "scavenge" for ChampChange points to ensure they are familiar with the services and resources available from your office. The ChampChange points for each Surge team will be calculated at the end of the week, and the team who has accumulated the most points during that week wins a prize!
Would your office or department like to be a participating resource in the Exploration of Campus Resources Scavenger Hunt Competition? The Surge consists of approximately 1,000 first-year students who will be visiting participating offices during the week of September 11th-17th. Students will gather their ChampChange points by either swiping their CatCard in a reader or collecting a ChampChange coupon provided by the Sophomore Surge in partnership with ChampChange. Having the students complete a small task prior to receiving their ChampChange points is encouraged!
If you would like to be a participating resource in the Sophomore Surge Exploration of Campus Resources Scavenger Hunt, please email SophomoreSurge@montana.edu with the following information by Friday, September 1st:
1. Name and Location of your office/department;
2. A short summary (3-5 sentences) of the services you provide;
3. A task (optional, but encouraged) for the students to complete while at your office prior to receiving their ChampChange points.
