Grant Writing 101: An Introduction to Grant-writing for Non-profits

In this three-hour session, participants will learn why grant writing is more than just "writing" with Laura Rhodes with Third Sector Consulting. Laura is a Certified Grant Writer and former foundation program officer who will debunk the myths about grants and help demystify the grant writing process.

• How to find your best grant prospects
• How to read a 990-PF to learn more about a foundation

• 20 easy and effective ways to improve proposal writing
Participants will also receive a voucher valid for a free basic proofreading of a letter of inquiry or grant proposal (valid for 60 days after the workshop).

Laura Rhodes is the principal at Third Sector Consulting, a boutique nonprofit consulting firm based in Bozeman with offices in Charleston, SC.
Laura specializes in prospect research as well as grant writing support for organizations that want to write their own grants. She also leads workshops, webinars, retreats and fundraising training for nonprofit staff and boards.
She has more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising and nonprofit development. She has worked on staff and also served as a board member for numerous nonprofit organizations. Prior starting her consulting business, Laura was a program officer with the American Express Foundation.
Having been both a grantmaker and a fundraiser, Laura uses her unique perspective to help nonprofits find more funders, win more grants and raise more money for their cause.
