Can the Griz Collection Sites and Volunteers Still Needed
This year marks the 18th annual Can the Griz/Can the Bobcats Food Drive, an off-field competition between MSU and the University of Montana to see which community can collect the most donations for their local food banks. This friendly competition takes place on Saturday, November 4th through Saturday, November 18th at the Bobcat/Griz game, and ends at half-time. Can the Griz proceeds go to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and benefits Bounty of the Bridgers: A Food Resource Council at MSU.
In 2016, MSU and the Bozeman area community donated 234,486 pounds of food plus approximately $92,688 to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Combined, that's a RECORD donation for the food bank! All of the food collected at Can the Griz remains in the Gallatin Valley and is used to support our friends, our neighbors, and our children’s classmates. Let’s set a new record this year while we Can the Griz!
The campus community is invited to help us Can the Griz by setting-up a blue and gold box/bin and promoting the Can the Griz Food Drive at your location beginning on November 4th through November 18th. By registering at this link, you will be provided with a collection box, marketing materials, official collection site poster(s), and advertising of your location as an official drop-off site. Unsure if your office or department has already signed up? You can view the current collection site list HERE.
