Registration open: CBE Biofilm Regulatory Meeting
- Tuesday, February 6, 2018 to Wednesday, February 7, 2018
- Hilton Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia
The Center for Biofilm Engineering is pleased to announce that registration is open for its annual regulatory meeting “Anti-Biofilm Technologies: Pathways to Product Development.”
Over the past decade, academic research advances and private company R&D efforts have led to the development of innovative anti-biofilm technologies with transformative potential in the consumer products and healthcare arenas. Likewise, advances in methods for studying and assessing biofilms have provided new insights into important biofilm characteristics such as why biofilms are difficult to kill and remove from surfaces.
The CBE is sponsoring this meeting for the fifth consecutive year in an effort to share recent scientific advances in anti-biofilm technologies and the impact on consumer products and healthcare. The meeting will feature speakers from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies presenting on topics such as new anti-biofilm technologies, methods for assessing their efficacy, and how these advances can lead to products that enhance health and safety. There are sessions related to products regulated by both EPA (surface disinfectants) and FDA (medical devices), with a panel discussion following each session.
The regulatory meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Arlington, Virginia and will include morning and afternoon sessions with hosted continental breakfast and lunch. Sessions will include speakers from both the FDA and EPA.
