FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international organization for inspiring young people's interest and participation in science and technology. MSU has a tradition of hosting the Montana FIRST events.
During the Feb. 2 FIRST Tech Challenge, students grades 7-12 compete with more complex robots in an arena. FIRST LEGO League teams, composed of students grades 4-8, will compete Feb. 3 by performing "missions" on pool table-sized playing fields using smaller robots.
The events run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in MSU's Shroyer Gym. Competitions start at roughly 10 a.m. each day. The event is free and open to the public.
MSU students and faculty, as well as community members, are needed as volunteers for this event.
