The Center for Western Lands and Peoples is pleased to announce Michele Corriel’s curated show of Jessie Wilber’s prints at the Helen Copeland Gallery from March 5th–22nd as part of the President’s Fine Art Series. Jessie Wilber arrived at Montana State College (now Montana State University) in 1941 and helped to form a tight-knit community that allowed the Modernist movement to gain a foothold in Montana. Michele Corriel, a doctoral student in American Studies, will give a lecture on Wilber as the first Modernist artist to teach at MSC on March 22nd in Cheever Hall, Room 215, at 6 PM. A reception will follow.
