Youth Writing Camp
- Monday, July 9, 2018 from 9:00am to 4:00pm
- Comfort Inn, Bozeman
Montana State University's Youth Writing Camp is held on the MSU campus July 9 through 13. The program is hosted by the Yellowstone Writing Project as a multi-day “unschooled” workshop complete with walking field trips, writing games, and guidance and feedback throughout the writing process.
The camp is led by teachers and junior counselors from the Yellowstone Writing Project, which is based in MSU’s Department of English and comprised of teachers who write and writers who teach. Participating students will write in multiple genres.
The camp, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, is open to students entering grades 5 through 12 in Fall 2018. An evening reception on Friday, July 13, 6:30 to 8p.m. allows parents to join their campers and the Yellowstone Writing Project Team to celebrate their creative writing.
Registration opens in March and will remain open until the camp is filled.
