Montana State University expects more than 2,600 students will receive degrees during Montana State University's 116th spring commencement, set for 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
MSU will confer degrees on candidates for graduation for the 2011-2012 academic year, according to Bonnie Ashley, MSU registrar. This spring there are expected to be more than 2,100 undergraduates and 500 graduate students.
There will be two ceremonies, both held at MSU's Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The Colleges of Arts and Architecture, Gallatin College, Letters and Science and Nursing will graduate at 9 a.m. with the processional beginning at 8:40 a.m.
The Colleges of Agriculture, Business, Education, Health and human Development and Engineering will have ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. with the processional beginning at 1:10. MSU graduate Jake Jabs, the president and CEO of the Denver, Colo.-based American Furniture Warehouse, will receive an honorary doctorate.
Jabs will deliver the charge to the graduates at both ceremonies.
