Hugh Ambrose presents "Behind the Scenes of the Making of the HBO Miniseries 'The Pacific'" at 8:00 p.m.
Toyota of Bozeman presents the 19th annual Friends of MSU Library Fundraiser Dinner and Auction on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Best Western Plus GranTree Inn in Bozeman. A silent auction and social hour with no-host bar will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and a live auction to follow at 7:00 p.m. New York Times best-selling author and acclaimed historian Hugh Ambrose will present "Behind the Scenes of the Making of the HBO Miniseries 'The Pacific'" at 8:00 p.m.
Ambrose served as the historical consultant for the HBO miniseries "The Pacific," which was produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman and won eight Emmys in 2010. "The Pacific" is a companion to the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers," which was produced by Ambrose's father, the late historian Stephen E. Ambrose. In addition to his work with HBO, Ambrose also wrote the book "The Pacific," which spent 17 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers List, peaking at number three. Ambrose lives in Helena, Mont.
Auction items for this event include dinner for eight with MSU President Waded Cruzado, two tickets to the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, two all-inclusive tickets to the Alumni Sky Suite at Bobcat Stadium for the Nov. 10 MSU vs. Portland State football game, and an Al Talbot one-piece bamboo fly rod with reel and fly fishing day trip for two.

This is the primary fundraiser for the Friends of MSU Library. Proceeds of this fundraiser enhance the collections and services of the MSU Library through collection and facilities endowments.
