Element Art Show
Bozeman, MT, Emerson Cultural Center, Weaver Room
The Emerson presents the "Element Art Show" on display in the Weaver Room October 8 - November 20, 2012. Meet the artists at an opening reception at Emerson's ArtWalk, Friday, October 12 from 5-8pm in the Weaver Room. The 2-d artwork was selected from entries in a competition of campus-wide Montana State University students who have created artwork related to science and natural history. From expansive landscapes to detailed depictions of single organisms, the show offers a wide range of pieces that will leave the viewer with a broader understanding of how students define science and natural history.
This exhibit accompanies the Element Film Festival that is an annual event in Bozeman. It originated as a way for student filmmakers of the world's only MFA program in Science and Natural History Filmmaking to showcase their work to the community. In 2010 this festival was open to student filmmakers worldwide and it was a great success from the beginning. This festival features the work of innovative student filmmakers that strive to improve our understanding of science and the natural world. Past Element films and filmmakers have gone on to win numerous awards and recognitions, including National Student Emmys, as well as their work showcased at other highly competitive international film festivals.
This year's Element Film Festival will take place on November 2 at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture in Bozeman, Montana. Plan to attend an additional reception for the event the Weaver Room, November 2, 5-6:30pm.
