Volunteer with FAST
In 2012, the Montana State University adopted a new strategic plan, with one of the goals emphasizing Engagement. The assertion is that engagement leads to student retention and has a positive impact on their overall educational experiences and successes. In early 2013, the Office for Activities and Engagement developed Faculty Administration and Staff Teamwork for Service, or FAST. FAST is the fulfillment our University's assertion that the sharing of intellectual and human assets has a powerful impact on both the Campus Community and the Bozeman and surrounding communities, and is simply the right thing to do. Join our FAST Service Program! Once per month, Faculty, Administration, and Staff from across the campus join forces to engage in service projects and make a difference in our community. With only one commitment per month, this is a great way to fit service into your busy schedule! Our goal is to report 100 hours of volunteerism by Faculty, Administration, and Staff by April 30.
Upcoming FAST Opportunity: Thursday, January 24 The Warming Center, located at 2104 Industrial Drive is Bozeman's seasonal and only homeless shelter. The Warming Center is a program operated through the HRDC and provides homeless families and individuals a safe and warm place to stay during the coldest months of winter. The Warming Center is open from 7pm to 7am nightly from mid-November to end of March. The Warming Center Volunteer provides support to the Coordinator and/or Lead to ensure that center is managed in a way that provides safety and protection for all guests, volunteers, and the facility staff. The volunteer worker will take direction from the Coordinator and/or Lead, making sure that shift operations are carried out accordingly from time of check in to time of check out. Volunteers are needed on Thursday, January 24 in 2 shifts: 7:00pm-9:00pm and 9:00pm-11:00pm.
Contact Robin at email@example.com or 994-2837 with questions. To volunteer, email firstname.lastname@example.org with FAST in the subject line. Please specify for what shift you would like to volunteer.
