Two town-hall meetings about Romney set for Jan. 24
- Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 12:00pm to 5:30pm
Two town-hall meetings about a possible renovation of Romney Gym will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, in SUB Ballroom C. The first meeting is set for from noon-1 p.m., and the second meeting will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. All MSU students and members of the campus community are invited to attend.
The meetings will be an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and other members of the campus community to learn about current ideas for transforming Romney into a student-centered facility and to share their own thoughts and visions.
MSU will be requesting $20 million from the Montana Legislature during this Legislative session for the renovation of Romney Gym. Romney was built in 1922 and now requires some repairs and renovations.
All student groups that currently use Romney will continue to have access to the building for their activities in the spring semester, according to MSU President Waded Cruzado, who plans to be in attendance at the 4:30-5:30 p.m. meeting on Jan. 24. Cruzado said in an email to students that it will be May before MSU knows whether legislative funding will be appropriated for the project, and it would be at least another year after that before any work would start.
