"My Skeletons Prefer Grandma's Kitchen"
An installation by recent Montana State University graduate Jordan Thornton. She uses relief prints in combination with cupboard doors to create and investigative experience for the viewers. Her work explores the ideas of memory and the objects we attach them to.
"This interactive wall installation represents an amusement and curiosity regarding the way that we as humans become attached to certain objects in our possession, as well as comments on our past as a facilitator of our present. This materialistic attachment to these unnecessary objects feels justified in the memories, stories, and knowledge that I associate with the seemingly trivial belongings that hide behind the doors. "
The show will be featured January 22nd-February 1st. The artist's reception will be Thursday, January 31st at 5:30 pm.
