A Writer's Quest: Handmade Book Exhibit

When:

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm

Where:

Wilson Hall, 1-114 - view map

Description:

This new exhibit in the Writing Center displays handmade books created by the students in Dr. Mark Schlenz's fall 2012 WRIT 205: Intro to Writing Studies class. Following the lead of artists from the Taoist and Zen traditions, the students in this course created their own versions of the Ten Ox Herding pictures. In this case, the students adapted the suggested narrative structure and thematic focus of the traditional ten stages to images and themes that explored their own personal quests for self-discovery and/or philosophic insight as writers.

Opening Reception: Tuesday, January 29th, 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Writing Center.
