Visual Communication Building, Room 182

Eric Reynolds, will be on campus this Friday, February 1st at 4:00 p.m. to talk about his animation work for Weta Digital.

Eric, a native Montanan is a senior animator and animation supervisor at Weta Digital in Wellington, NZ.  He has worked on a host of major films including the recently released, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." "Rise of the Planet of the Apes,"  "Avatar," "District 9," "Jumper," "Bridge to Terabithia", and "King Kong" among others.

Eric graduated from Choteau High School and attended Concordia College in Minnesota.   His passion for animation was sparked by seeing the trailer for The Lion King.  He took a few more classes while he worked at a bank and ultimately landed a job in Vancouver, BC at Main Frame Entertainment.  He followed with a animation position at Tippett Studios in Berkeley, CA, where he worked commercials and movies such as "The Haunting," "Santa Clause 2" and "Evolution."

Then came the big break in 2005 with an offer to join Peter Jackson's Weta Digital.
