V'DAY MSU BOZEMAN JOINS GLOBAL EFFORT

TO STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS

Through Benefit productions of "The Vagina Monologues"

"We were worried. We were worried about vaginas." These now infamous lines are returning to Bozeman with the VOICE Center and Students Against Sexual Assault's production of The Vagina Monologues this February.

Based on interviews playwright and activist Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views of sex, relationships, and violence, the play delves into the mystery, humor, pain, wisdom, outrage, and excitement surrounding their life experiences. While the content is personal, powerful, hilarious, and at times difficult, audience members have delighted in reveling in these taboo topics since the play's inception in 1996.

Two benefit productions of "The Vagina Monologues" are scheduled for this month at the MSU Procrastinator Theater. Directed by Hannah Pearce and Ellie Newell, this will be a community production involving local women, featuring a very special monologue written and performed by Bozeman's own KP Glasheen. All proceeds will benefit the MSU Students Against Sexual Assault's Survivor Fund, a fund to directly assist survivors of sexual assault and dating violence.
